Our Programs
Fairy Godmother Project supports families facing all phases of a pediatric cancer diagnosis. Through practical assistance, emotional support, community connections, and compassionate care, we help ease the day-to-day burdens families face so parents and caregivers can focus on what matters most.
We serve families living in Stafford, Spotsylvania, Caroline, and King George Counties, the City of Fredericksburg, and Northern Orange County, Virginia. Request services here.
FAMILY SERVICES PROGRAM
Every family's needs are different, so our Family Services Program allows families to choose the support that works best for them. Through a flexible points-based system, families can select the services and benefits that best meet their needs.
Available services include:
Meals and snacks
Professional house cleaning and lawn care
Gas and grocery gift cards
Financial assistance
Lead volunteers who offer personal support
AAA memberships
Care packages
Quarterly family events
Complimentary counseling services provided by a licensed clinical psychologist
Helping Hands Fund for expenses related to long-term effects of cancer and its treatment
Additional services through community partners, including duct cleaning, YMCA memberships, and pet grooming and boarding.

REMISSION RELIEF/ SURVIVORSHIP PROGRAM
The end of cancer treatment doesn't always mean the end of the challenges families face. FGP continues to support families as they adjust to life after treatment.
Available services include:
Gift cards and care packages through the Remission Relief Program, available during the first year following treatment.
An annual retreat for moms
Helping Hands Fund for expenses related to the long-term effects of cancer and its treatment, available for up to two years after treatment
Opportunities to connect with other FGP families through ongoing events and activities.
STARGAZER
PROGRAM
Our Stargazer Program provides compassionate care and support to families facing the end of a child's life and continues to walk alongside them after their child has passed away.
End-of-Life Support
$500 gift card to help with unexpected expenses during hospice or end-of-life care
In-home support
Assistance coordinating community support

Funeral and Celebration of Life Support
Financial assistance with funeral and celebration of life expenses

Through Stargazer, families remain part of the FGP community, where their children continue to be remembered and honored.
PHOTOGRAPHY PROGRAM
Fairy Godmother Project's Photography Program provides complimentary portrait sessions to families in our program to capture the families’ moments, connections, and love for each other. We hold two portrait days a year, in the spring and the fall. In addition, we offer individual sessions when needed. Each session includes a canvas and digital files.
We also offer photography services for celebrations of life, funerals, and other special events, subject to photographer availability.
Kitt Creative Photography graciously donates their renowned Santa’s Workshop Portraits to our families every year.
