MEET SARA, UMW INTERN
Sara Weinstein is our UMW intern. Sara started with FGP in August of 2013 and is still working with us as an intern and volunteer. Sara ran last September’s Gala with ease and professionalism and we are so lucky to have her on our team!
She will be out in the work force come May so, if by chance, you are reading this and in need of someone who is great at event planning, organizing, and dealing with people, plus is intelligent, outgoing, motivated and determined to make a difference, let us know.
What made you want to get involved with FGP?
I heard about it from a friend who listened to Andie speak in her business class, and I had to get involved.
Has being involved with FGP made a difference in your life? If so, how?
Absolutely. I have always liked to believe that there are really great people out there. But in every day life, you don’t always see that. Working for FGP has opened my eyes back up to how generous people can be.
What would you say to describe FGP if someone asked who we are and what we do?
FGP is a nonprofit that helps families with the day to day things that they should not have to worry about while they are worrying about their child. So often people are around at the beginning of treatment, but as time goes on, people go on with their lives. FGP stays and supports the families for as long as they need us.
For volunteers, what keeps you involved with FGP?
Knowing that I am helping, even if it is in a small way.
For Volunteers and Donors, can you describe your experience with FGP?
It has been eye opening. Not only in terms of how good people can be, but Andie is wonderful at helping people grow. She has given me opportunities that I would not have gotten anywhere else. And it has been much more fulfilling than it would have been anywhere else.
